Windows XP Home and Professional editions were the only two major versions released in the year 2001. Win XP home supports 32-bit OS (x86) whereas Win XP professional supports 64-bit OS (x64). Over the year, Windows XP Professional 64-bit ISO became more popular.

Windows 2000 was a modernization of Windows NT 4.0 which brought many of the desktop changes, including Active Desktop, to Microsoft's Windows NT line. Four editions of Windows 2000 were released, Professional, Server, Advanced Server, Datacenter Server. Improvements over NT 4.0 include new Accessibility Options, increased language and locale support, NTFS 3.0, the Encrypting File System and Active Directory. Windows 2000 was first planned to replace both Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0 although using the NT kernel for consumer and professional editions would not happen until Windows 2000's successor, Windows XP.
Windows XP, the name is enough for its introduction because it is one of the most used operating system all over the world. Still, many users love to use Windows XP and looking to download Windows XP professional edition.
I am a computer professional since 2007. Having an experience in Troubleshooting & Installation of Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Routers or any Hardware queries to Desktop PC's. Passionate & always looking forward to find out new tricks, solutions to get issues resolved at easiest way. In addition, has an interest in anything related to computer hardware & software. Always try to make every computer task easy for computer users.
Windows XP was released to the public on October 25, 2001, the first two versions released by the company were Home and Professional. The Home version was targeted to home PC users, while the Professional version was designed for business and professionals. Prior to Windows 7 market dominance, Windows XP was the most widely used desktop operating system in the world for many years.
Windows XP has a lot of updates in the user interface (compared to Windows ME and 2000), making it easier to use and navigate through files and programs. The appearance of windows shell elements such as desktops, taskbar, start menu, get a better design with transparent icons and shadow drops. The Start menu gets two columns, and now it is completely customizable by the user. Windows Explorer also gets new features and changes, like task pane (useful file actions shown in the left hand sidebar), file thumbnails, sorting, grouping etc.
Official support for Windows XP finished on April 8, 2014, after which the Windows XP stopped receiving security updates and patches. Starting in July 2019, 1.71% of Windows PCs run Windows XP. If you are a professional we recommend Windows XP Professional Edition.
Is this a 32 bit or 64 bit system? I have software for 32 bit that is not compatible with any Windows 64 bit system so I want a duel boot computer with Windows 10, WOW64 and windows Xp 32 bit. IS this a 32 bit system?
Windows 2000 introduces layered windows that allow for transparency, translucency and various transition effects like shadows, gradient fills and alpha-blended GUI elements to top-level windows.[68] Menus support a new Fade transition effect.
Windows 2000 introduced the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), which is used to create, save, and open administrative tools.[47] Each of these is called a console, and most allow an administrator to administer other Windows 2000 computers from one centralised computer. Each console can contain one or many specific administrative tools, called snap-ins.[47] These can be either standalone (with one function), or an extension (adding functions to an existing snap-in). In order to provide the ability to control what snap-ins can be seen in a console, the MMC allows consoles to be created in author mode or user mode.[47] Author mode allows snap-ins to be added, new windows to be created, all portions of the console tree to be displayed and consoles to be saved. User mode allows consoles to be distributed with restrictions applied. User mode consoles can grant full access to the user for any change, or they can grant limited access, preventing users from adding snapins to the console though they can view multiple windows in a console. Alternatively users can be granted limited access, preventing them from adding to the console and stopping them from viewing multiple windows in a single console.[89]
Sib. 5.x: No sound in Sibelius 5.2 using Akai LPK25 controller keyboard Posted by Lenny Hat - 20 Mar 05:57AM Hide picture How do I get my Akai lpk25 controller keyboard to be recognized by Sibelius software? This kb is supposed to be "plug-and-play", and to work without a software driver. XP recognizes the lp25 by name, but still insists on searching for a driver. When I cancel out the Windows Wizard, I get a message indicating that my new hardware device may not work properly. Then when I open Sibelius, I get no sound when I play the lpk25, as I do when I play the QWERTY keyboard (or my Novation X-station), even though I have selected to enable a (generic) "MIDI" keyboard within Sibelius' "Preferences" window.I should note that this item was recently purchased USED (in "excellent working condition") and arrived without the software CD that comes in the OEM box. Since no driver installation is required, I have no idea what this CD contains. Anyway, I'm stumped. All suggestions most welcome.Thanks. However in Sib. 6 you could go into the >File >Preferences >Input Devices, and check the box next to your keyboard name that should automatically appear in the list under the device names. --------With regards to the software that came on the disc, from the best of my memory, it was simply a pdf user guide, and also a small app that allowed you to set up the. . . ?, program button, or something like that. I would think that you can get these both of these from the Akai website.I thought that little keyboard was pretty terrific. It works just fine with Sibelius, and I don't think your problem is because you bought it used (at least not yet). I hope Sib.5 has the device input menu, if not try looking for some else similar. Take Care,Jim ---------[edit] Also unless I'm mistaken, Akai uses the same Driver set that are used for a standard windows keyboard. And as you might guess those are included with the OS. (it's been a while since I had that KB, I could be mistaking it for the M-Audio instead) Good Luck. In case anyone out there is experiencing a similar challenge, here is a quick summary of the process I went through to resolve the problem. I had heard so many times that no driver was required for this controller keyboard that when I plugged it into my PC, I kept rejecting the Windows Wizard's offer to search the itnernet for a driver, or to install one from my disk or its own secret treasure chest of software drivers. I kept assuming that this entire process was unnecessary and only make things worse. As it turned out, I needed to enable the Wizard to install its generic USB device driver in order for the LPK 25 to be be recognized in Control Panel as a USB music hardware device and finally, to operate within Sibelius. Another confusion thing was seeing XP acknowledge the LPK25 BY NAME as soon as I plugged it in, but never again seeing the LPK25 listed by name, not inside Windows Control Panel, or anywhere inside Sibelius. (In Sibelius 5.2, it is called "MIDI keyboard"). A casual observer studying these on-screen identities could easily conclude that the LPK25 could not be expected to work, since its name did not appear either in Windows or Sibelius. All this misery (short-lived, blessedly) from a controller keyboard described everywhere as the most user-friendly plug-and-play keyboard controller ever manufactured!Anyway, thanks to All for your kind attention.- Len Hat Back to top Allthreads Re: Sib. 5.x: No sound in Sibelius 5.2 using Akai LPK25 controller keyboard Posted by Martin P. (or click Start, click Run, and then type in: devmgmt.msc )Once you get their you should see it listed under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers heading. and from there you could view the properties and device drivers settings/status. No matter though because you have things working now. I like the LPK25 keyboard a lot and I hope one day they have an additional octave or two added to accommodate wider chord voicing, maybe they could make a slight change in design whereby 2 could be linked together yet still be ultra portable.
